Cadets First Day 2019-2020 Season

Weekly Activities

Band

When: Friday September 27th from 18hr30 to 21hr00

Where: Ottawa Technical Secondary School (485 Donald St)

Other Information: This week is an open house for all interested cadets and their parents. No musical experience is required, just an interest in playing an instrument.

 

Marksmanship

When: Friday September 27th from 18hr45 to 21hr00

Where: QMO (142 Chemin Freeman)

Other Information: This practice is open only to cadets who participated last year (the cadets Captain Lindauer mentioned at closing parade). New cadets will be welcome on Friday October 4th.

 

Biathlon

When: Saturday October 5th from 09hr00 to 11hr30

Where: To be determined

Dress: Comfortable running shoes and athletic clothing that is weather appropriate

Other Information: All cadets interested in joining the biathlon team are encouraged to come out.

 

Senior Ground School

When: Monday September 30th from 18hr30 to 20hr30

Where: NDHS classrooms

Other Information: Senior ground school is open to cadets who are planning on applying for glider, power, or other national aviation camps (aircraft maintenance and operations, or advanced aerospace). All other cadets will be able to participate in Junior ground school later this year.

 

Drill

When: Tuesday October 1st from 18hr30 to 20hr30

Where: Gym 2 at NDHS

Dress: Cadets are to be in civilian attire with parade boots

Other Information: If you are interested in joining the drill team, please come out.

 

 

Single Activities

Music Clinic

When: Saturday October 5th from 09hr00 to 17hr15

Where: Hull Armoury

Other Information: A full day event focused around improving and learning an instrument. Cadets are to bring a lunch, snacks, and a water bottle. Sign up will be at the band open house September 27th.

 

Fall Tag Day

When: Saturday October 5th

Where: to be determined

Other Information: All cadets and parents, please mark your calendars for this tag day.  Attendance is mandatory.  More information will be provided on Wednesday October 2nd, 2019. Please click this link. Cadets participating in the Music Clinic are exempt from having to participate due to the conflict.

 

 

Other Events and Information

Updated Cadet Guidebook

All cadets, especially new ones, please be aware of the updated Cadet Guidebook, which you can download in PDF format from the home page of the squadron webpage.  The cadet guidebook will help you understand how the squadron works and provide you with the knowledge of what you need to know to properly function in the squadron.   It is to your great benefit to familiarize yourself with this resource.  You don’t have to download it, but you should at least go through it online.  It’s there to access whenever necessary.

 

CO’s Parade

When: Wednesday October 2nd from 18hr15 to 21hr00

Where: Drop-off and Pick-up are at NDHS

Dress: Cadets are to be in C1, and any new cadets are to dress in a white shirt, black pants, and black shoes.

Other Information: Returning cadets are to bring back the signed Annual Validation Form and new cadets are to return their registration forms, if they have not already done so.
