Pipes and Drums Workshop

When: Friday October 25th from 18hr30 to 20hr00

Where: Robert E. Wilson Public School (373 McArthur Ave)

Other Information: If you have any interest in pipes and drums, even if you have no prior experience and are just curious, please come out to the workshop and learn more.

 

Marksmanship

When: Friday October 25th from 18hr30 (for returning cadets) or 19hr00 (for new signed-up cadets) to 21hr00

Where: QMO (142 Chemin Freeman)

 

Biathlon [Cancelled]

 

Senior Ground School

When: Monday October 28th from 18hr30 to 20hr30

Where: NDHS classrooms

 

Flag Party Try-outs

When: Tuesday October 29th from 18hr30 to 19hr00

Where: Gym 2 at NDHS

Dress: C-3

Drill Team

Single Activities

Fall Tag Day

When: Saturday October 26th, morning and all-day shift to arrive at 08hr15 and afternoon shift is to arrive at 12hr15

Where: 1924 Wembley Ave. (drop-off and pick-up)

Dress: For cadets with uniforms the dress is C-3 (with parka if needed) and any cadet without a uniform is to be in a white dress shirt, and black pants and shoes.

Other Information: Lunch will be provided to all cadets. We are looking for parent volunteer drivers for the day, if you are interested please complete this form and send to 211.activities@gmail.com or bring it with you the day of. All the cadets signed up and the shifts they chose are located here, if unable to attend your shift, email 211.activities@gmail.com by 18hr00 Friday October 25th.

 

Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign

When: Saturday October 26th from 10hr00 to 18hr00 and Sunday October 27th from 10hr00 to 17hr00

Where: Real Canadian Superstore (190 Richmond Rd)

Fall FTX (Field Training Exercise) [New Date]

When: Friday November 15th at 17hr45 to Sunday November 17th at 16hr00

Where: Pick-up and drop-off are at NDHS (FTX will occur at Camp Smitty Outdoor Centre)

Dress: Please see the kit list

Other Information: The permission slip is required to be signed and returned by end of night Wednesday November 6th as either a physical copy or scanned and emailed to 211.activities@gmail.com. If you are unable to obtain an item on the kit list please feel free to talk to one of the officers or email 211.activities@gmail.com.

New Info: Due to unforeseen circumstances the FTX for this weekend (November 1-3) has been moved to the weekend of November 15-17. The timings for the exercise remain the same. Any permission slips handed in are still valid, but if you are no longer able to attend due to the change of date, please either email 211.activities@gmail.com or inform an officer on Wednesday’s training evening.

Candlelight Ceremony

When: Tuesday November 5th at 17hr30

Where: Canadian War Museum (1 Vimy Place)

Dress: C-1

Other Information: Cadets will greet and assist veterans and their guests and participate in the candle procession. They are also invited to the reception afterwards.

 

Beechwood National War Cemetery Ceremony

When: Monday November 11th from 09hr00 to 11hr45

Where: Beechwood National War Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave.)

Dress: C-1 (with parkas)

Other Information: Cadets will act as wreath layers. If you are interested in participating, please email 211.activities@gmail.com by October 30th. A note will be provided to those who sign-up that can be handed in to their school as a reason for their absence. All cadets with uniforms attending the ceremony must have both the parka and fleece liner, the cadet toque, and any black gloves (can be civilian). If a cadet does not have even one of these items, they must arrive in civilian clothing (white dress shirt with black pants and shoes) with gloves and a toque.

 

Westboro Remembrance Day Parade

When: Monday November 11th from 12hr00 to 15hr00

Where: Westboro Legion (389-391 Richmond Rd)

Dress: C-1 (with parkas)

Other Information: A hot dog lunch will be provided. This parade takes precedence over the Beechwood Ceremony. If you are interested in participating, please email 211.activities@gmail.com by October 30th. A note will be provided to those who sign-up that can be handed in to their school as a reason for their absence. All cadets with uniforms attending the ceremony must have both the parka and fleece liner, the cadet toque, and any black gloves (can be civilian). If a cadet does not have even one of these items, they must arrive in civilian clothing (white dress shirt with black pants and shoes) with gloves and a toque.

 

Level 5 Workshop

When: Saturday November 23rd (timings to come)

Where: Salaberry Armoury (188 Alexandre Taché Blvd, Hull)

Other Information: Further details to come.

 

Emergency First Aid Course

When: Sunday November 24th (will be all day, exact timings to come)

Where: To be determined

Dress: Comfortable and appropriate civilian attire for practical exercises, long hair must be tied back.

Other Information: To participate cadets must have turned 13 years old by September 1st, 2019. Cadets will need paper and a pencil to take notes, and a lunch for the day. Sign-up will be available next training evening (Wednesday October 30th) or email 211.activities@gmail.com. There are only 18 spots available for this course, another course will be offered in the new year.

Updated Cadet Guidebook

All cadets, especially new ones, please be aware of the updated Cadet Guidebook, which you can download in PDF format from the home page of the squadron webpage.  The cadet guidebook will help you understand how the squadron works and provide you with the knowledge of what you need to know to properly function in the squadron.   It is to your great benefit to familiarize yourself with this resource.  You don’t have to download it, but you should at least go through it online.  It’s there to access whenever necessary.

 

Change of Command Parade

When: Wednesday October 30th from 18hr15 to 21hr00

Where: Drop-off and Pick-up are at NDHS

Dress: Cadets are to be in C-1 (ceremonial winter dress), and any cadets without a uniform are to dress in a white shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
