Weekly Announcements (April 18th 2019)

Secondly, please make sure that before attending a Cadet activity following a significant weather event, that you first verify the squadron calendar available on the squadron website or the Facebook page to ensure the activity is still ongoing.
A huge shout-out of thanks to all the cadets and parents that volunteered at the squadron’s Spring Tag Day this past Saturday. Over $7000 was raised by cadets in a single day. So a round of applause to all those involved.
There is no band this week.
Junior Ground School
There is no Junior Ground School on Monday April 22nd.
There is no marksmanship this week.
Drill Team Tuesday April 23rd at NDHS from 18:30 to 20:30.
Spring Field Training Exercise (Friday April 26th – Sunday April 28th)
The squadron’s spring FTX is scheduled for the weekend of April 26th – 28th. Cadets are to arrive no later than 18hr00 at NDHS (710 Broadview ave) on Friday April 26th and should be picked up no later than 16hr00 on Sunday April 28th at the same location. The kit list, and permission slip are located below. The permission slip must be returned by Wednesday’s (April 24th) Training night.
Spring FTX Kit List and Info
Gliding Day (Sunday May 5th)
Departure and return will be from Notre Dame High School. The bus departs at 07hr15, and will return around 17hr00. Cadets need to bring a lunch and water as the site has no canteen nor anywhere to fill water bottles. The dress is civilian. There may be down time, as such cadets are encouraged to bring a book or other similar items. If the activity is cancelled due to inclement whether, it will be announced via the squadron website at 06hr30.
Battle of the Atlantic (Sunday May 5th @ National War Memorial)
The Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) will be hosting the annual Battle of the Atlantic (BOA) ceremony at the National War Memorial to honour the fallen RCN and Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) heroes. As in past years, the RCN would be honoured to have both Sea Cadets and Air Cadets participate in, and assist with, the parade and ceremony. Dress is C1, and cadets are to be there by 09hr15, and the ceremony will finish around 12hr00.

Regular Training Night (Wednesday April 24th @ NDHS)
Next Wednesday is a regular training night in winter dress.
It may be spring, but a reminder to all cadets and parents that outdoor shoes are NOT allowed in the gym.
