211 Squadron – Weekly Announcements (January 17th 2019)

Band this Friday at Ottawa Technical Secondary School, 485 Donald St, from 18:15 to 20:30. For any questions, please contact FSgt Hatzis.
This Sat. Jan 18 is a regular practice starting at 8:30. There is a slim chance that it will be a shorter practice due to extreme cold that is predicted. We will email details to cadets as we receive them. Please confirm your attendance with an email by 6pm Friday Jan 18 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Regional Competition will be Jan. 26 and 27. Participation category will be on Saturday starting at 1pm till about 4 or 5. Competitive categories will start at 10h30 on Sunday Jan 27 and finish mid afternoon. Teams will be announced at practice this weekend.
We need 3 parent volunteers on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. If your parents or siblings over 18 can volunteer please let us know by January 19 by emailing email@example.com with availability, name and cellphone number.
Senior Ground School:
Senior Ground School Monday January 21st from 18hr30 to 20hr30 at NDHS
There will be a marksmanship practice this Friday Jan 18 from 1900 to 2100 at the QMO (142 Chemin Freeman).
Drill Team Tuesday January 22nd at NDHS from 18:30 to 20:30. Any cadets interested in joining the drill team should speak to FSgt McCloskey.
Mess Dinner (Friday January 25th @ RCAF Mess):
The annual mess dinner for the squadron is going to be Friday January 25th, sign up will be available on Wednesday evenings at cadets starting January 9th. A deposit of $5 is needed with sign up. It will be held at the RCAF mess located at 158 Gloucester street, Ottawa.
Cadets are to arrive at 18:15 and should be completed at 21:15. Dress is C8, see attached dress, info on dress can be found on the bottom of this post.
National Course Exams and Interviews (Saturday February 2nd):
Any cadets applying for national courses, the exams and interviews are scheduled for Saturday February 2nd. Cadets are to be at 2597 Alta Vista Dr. in C1 dress, with a packed lunch. The day runs from 8am to 5pm.
Effective Speaking Competition (Wednesday February 6th @ NDHS):
The Squadron competition is on Wed Feb 6th and the winner will have the privilege of representing the squadron at the regional competition in February 24-2019 Aviation museum.

Regular Training (Wednesday January 23rd @ NDHS):
Wednesday is a regular training night in winter dress.
Special Cadet Night – Skating Night (Wednesday January 30th):
Instead of a regular training night on the 30th, cadets will instead have a fun night skating on the canal. More details to come.
