Weekly Announcements (19/11/2021)

Admin note: If you cannot attend a training night YOU MUST inform your Fcmdt AND the Administration Officer (jean-simon.brassard@cadets.gc.ca or in a Direct message on Discord). Attendance counts towards promotions, camps, and much more.

 

Virtual Training Night

Who: Level 1’s and 2’s and level 5’s not required to be at the Legion.

Where: Discord platform, parade square channel

Date: Wednesday, November 24th, 2021

When: 18hr30 – 21hr00

Dress: C3-E for level 1-4 (winter dress with blue T-shirt), C3 for level 5 (Winter dress with blue dress shirt and tie), or appropriate civilian attire (white shirt and black pants).

More Info: Don’t forget to set your account to online- Green circle beside your name, otherwise attendance isn’t accounted for.

Note for level 2’s only: Next training week class EO M240.01 (exploring current advancements in aerospace technology). They will be an in-class activity that requires you to do some work before class next week. This is what you should do before the lesson next week: 
-Research current advancements in space technology (some examples are temper foam, satellite radio and Debakey blood pump). 
-Bring your findings to class next week. You can collect your information from the news, magazines, journals and websites, or any other sources not mentioned.

 

In-Person Training Night

Who: Level 3

Where: Westboro Legion Upper Hall enter by 389 Richmond St

Date: Wednesday, November 24th, 2021

When: 18hr30 – 21hr00

Dress: C3-E for level 1-4 (winter dress with blue T-shirt), C3 for level 5 (Winter dress with blue dress shirt and tie) or appropriate civilian attire (white shirt and black pants).

More Info: Parents are to drop off cadets behind the Legion at the intersection of Winston Ave and Madison Ave (and cadets walk up Winston to Richmond). Parents are not to enter the Legion building. When picking up, cadets should also be picked up in the Ottawa Mortgage Broker parking lot (off of Madison Ave).  Again, parents should stay in their vehicles and wait for their cadets. Cadets must have their masks and will be asked about symptoms and to sign in when entering the Legion.

 

In-Person Training Night

Who: Level 4

Where: Westboro Legion Lower Hall enter by 391 Richmond St

Date: Wednesday, November 24th, 2021

When: 18hr15 – 21hr00

Dress: C3-E for level 1-4 (winter dress with blue T-shirt), C3 for level 5 (Winter dress with blue dress shirt and tie) or appropriate civilian attire (white shirt and black pants).

More Info: Parents are to drop off cadets at the MEC parking lot and cadets are to walk into the Legion.  Parents are not to enter the Legion building.  When picking up, cadets should also be picked up in the MEC parking lot.  Again, parents should stay in their vehicles and wait for their cadets. Cadets must have their masks and will be asked about symptoms and to sign in when entering the Legion.

 

Biathlon

Who: Any cadet interested in participating or competing in the biathlon competition. Those interested must sign up with the Biathlon CPI (Sgt Kilty) and the coaches at 211squadronbiathlon@gmail.com.

Date: Every Saturday morning

When: 09hr00 – 10hr30

Where: NCC Greenbelt, meet at P13 trailhead at Bell High School.

Dress: Workout clothing appropriate for outdoor running (running shoes, mitts, toque, jacket).

More Info: Cadets must have a mask with them and wear it other than when running. Cadets must bring a filled water bottle and snacks (if wanted). Cadets will not be allowed to share food and drinks.

 

Junior Cadets Review Day – Mandatory

Who: All cadets that will be level 1-2-3 for the upcoming training year. (All cadets that were levels 1-2 in the 2020-2021 training year).  Note that this is a mandatory event and if you are not present you must ensure that your Flight staff knows of your absence.

Where: HCMS Carleton (79 Prince of Wales Dr., Ottawa)

Date: Sunday, November 21st, 2021

When: 09hr00 – 15hr30

Dress: Appropriate civilian attire and bring with you sports clothes and shoes.

More Information: You also need to bring your complete uniform (if it has been issued to you so far, some will be distributed on-site as well), boots, boot polish, and cloth. Girls: Hair kit necessary to do your hair to standards (i.e. hair gel, elastics same colour as hair, hair net, bobby pins, hairbrush, etc. )

 

513 Workshops

Who: All level 5 non-qualified cadets

Where: Virtual

Date: November 20th, 22nd, 27th or 29th (you must select 2 workshops in total).

Dress: C-5 (FTU)
