Band

When: Friday October 18th from 18hr30 (for returning cadets) or 19hr00 (for new signed-up cadets) to 21hr00

When: Monday October 21st from 18hr30 to 20hr30

Where: NDHS classrooms

 

Flag Party Try-outs [Just Added]

When: Wednesday October 23rd from 18hr00 to 18hr20

Where: Gym 2 NDHS

Other Information: Any cadets interested in trying out for flag party are to contact FSgt Jiang at george.jj.jiang@gmail.com

 

Drill Team

When: Tuesday October 22nd from 18hr30 to 20hr30

Where: Gym 2 at NDHS

Dress: Cadets are to be in civilian attire with parade boots

 

 

Single Activities

Patrol Race

When: Sunday October 20th, arrival at 08hr15 for participating cadets, spectators are welcome to view from 10hr00 to 15hr00

Where: Connaught Ranges (9 Bisley Blvd. Kanata)

Dress: Appropriate athletic gear for the weather

Other Information: Please bring your own food, drinks and chairs. CI Rudin-Brown will be there, CI Kennedy will not be there. The patrol race consists of running and shooting in teams of two. The team members must stay close to one another for the duration of the race. The exact rules will be reviewed on the morning of the patrol race. We tried to include as many as we could, however, we are limited by ages and categories. Here are the teams in their respective age categories:

Open Male: Conor McCann and Jonah Ruddy

Open Female: Lene Rudin-Brown and Erin Buckley

Junior Female: Hannah Erickson and Amanda Qin

Junior Male: Alex Hartung and Arthur Lazier

Open Mix: Sidney Rudin-Brown and Declan McCloskey

Junior Mix: Kathleen Buckley and Nathaniel Kilty

Fall Tag Day

When: Saturday October 26th, shifts are 09hr00 to 12hr00 and 13hr00 to 18hr00

Where: Shift locations will be assigned

Dress: For cadets with uniforms the dress is C-3 (with parka if needed) and any cadet without a uniform is to be in a white dress shirt, and black pants and shoes.

Other Information: Attendance is mandatory for all cadets and they will receive a fundraising point for each shift they participate in, which is necessary to attend the year end trip. If you have not signed up already for a shift, please email 211.activities@gmail.com. We are looking for parent volunteer drivers for the day, if you are interested please stay posted, as a form will be required to fill out and insurance information will be needed. A fully detailed post will be provided early next week.

 

Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign

When: Saturday October 26th from 10hr00 to 18hr00 and Sunday October 27th from 10hr00 to 17hr00

Where: Real Canadian Superstore (190 Richmond Rd)

Dress: C-1

Other Information: The shift schedule is below, please email 211.activities@gmail.com before September 23rd if you are no longer able to make your shift.

Candlelight Ceremony

When: Tuesday November 5th at 17hr30

Where: Canadian War Museum (1 Vimy Place)

Dress: C-1

Other Information: Cadets will greet and assist veterans and their guests and participate in the candle procession. They are also invited to the reception afterwards. If you are interested in participating, please email 211.activities@gmail.com by October 23rd.

 

Beechwood National War Cemetery Ceremony

When: Monday November 11th from 09hr00 to 11hr45

Where: Beechwood National War Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave.)

Dress: C-1 (with parkas)

Other Information: Cadets will act as wreath layers. If you are interested in participating, please email 211.activities@gmail.com by October 30th. A note will be provided to those who sign-up that can be handed in to their school as a reason for their absence.

 

Westboro Remembrance Day Parade

When: Monday November 11th from 12hr00 to 15hr00

Where: Westboro Legion (389-391 Richmond Rd)

Dress: C-1 (with parkas)

Other Information: A hot dog lunch will be provided. This parade takes precedence over the Beechwood Ceremony. If you are interested in participating, please email 211.activities@gmail.com by October 30th. A note will be provided to those who sign-up that can be handed in to their school as a reason for their absence.

 

Fall FTX

When: Friday November 1st at 17hr45 to Sunday November 3rd at 16hr00

Where: Pick-up and drop-off are at NDHS

Dress: Please see the kit list

Other Information: The permission slip is required to be signed and returned by end of night Wednesday October 23rd as either a physical copy or scanned and emailed to 211.activities@gmail.com. Any cadets that have not signed up but are interested in going please email 211.activities@gmail.com. If you are unable to obtain an item on the kit list please feel free to talk to one of the officers or email 211.activities@gmail.com.

 

 

Other Events and Information

Updated Cadet Guidebook

All cadets, especially new ones, please be aware of the updated Cadet Guidebook, which you can download in PDF format from the home page of the squadron webpage.  The cadet guidebook will help you understand how the squadron works and provide you with the knowledge of what you need to know to properly function in the squadron.   It is to your great benefit to familiarize yourself with this resource.  You don’t have to download it, but you should at least go through it online.  It’s there to access whenever necessary.

 

Regular Training Evening

When: Wednesday October 23rd from 18hr15 to 21hr00

Where: Drop-off and Pick-up are at NDHS

Dress: Cadets are to be in C-3 (winter dress), and any cadets without a uniform are to dress in a white shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
