Other Events and Information

Updated Cadet Guidebook

All cadets, especially new ones, please be aware of the updated Cadet Guidebook, which you can download in PDF format from the home page of the squadron webpage.  The cadet guidebook will help you understand how the squadron works and provide you with the knowledge of what you need to know to properly function in the squadron.   It is to your great benefit to familiarize yourself with this resource.  You don’t have to download it, but you should at least go through it online.  It’s there to access whenever necessary.

Parents!  Parents!!  SCC Members Wanted!!!

Every year there is a slight turnover on the Squadron Sponsoring Committee.  Most members of the SSC are parents of cadets in the squadron.  The SSC is both a support organization for the squadron and a fun team.  Some spots are opening up and we are looking for parents to consider joining our group.

Some of the perks include:

New friends, experience with sitting on a board, development of leadership skills, input into cadet activities, the coveted “Door Code” to the school, invites to the mess dinner as well as some other special perks.  We have a great team and are looking for more “movers and shakers”, or, people who want to learn to become “movers and shakers”.  Being on the SSC committee is a fun and rewarding experience.

Your commitment is approximately 12 meetings throughout the year, usually once a month on Wednesday evenings.  You would also be participating from time to time at some of our cadet events.  There are no meetings during the summer.

If this is something that may interest you, and you’d like to discuss this to learn more before committing, please feel free to email Rob Stocki at 211.chairperson@cadetsair.ca
