211 Air Cadets Serving The Community

Cadets Serving The Community

On December 3rd, 2018, the 211 Ottawa Kiwanis Royal Canadian Air Cadets joined a number of community partners to provide an an experience that would have been out of reach to many children.  There was a mix of inner-city children, recent immigrant children from Syria and children from faith groups mixing in with local children from many communities in the Ottawa area.

The event was organized by the Barrhaven Lions Club.  In typical caring fashion, other community partners were invited to participate to make the event a success.

The Community Partners Included:

The Barrhaven Lions Club (Organizers of the event)

211 Ottawa Kiwanis Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron

Ottawa Police

Ottawa Police Venturers

Ontario Provincial Police

The 211 Cadets setup an information booth and promoted the 211 Ottawa Kiwanis Air Cadet Corps by mingling with the children/youth and answering questions about the program.

While many children were too young to join Air Cadets at this time, parents who never heard of the program inquired, creating future interest for their children to become cadets at a later time.
