Aircrew Survival Training – Winter 2019
Dear Cadets (and parents/guardians),
The squadron will be taking part in a winter field training exercise (FTX) with regards to aircrew survival on February 15 to 17, 2019. Cadets are to arrive at NDHS ( 710 Broadview Ave Ottawa) no later than 1845 on Friday, and should be picked up no later than 1500 on Sunday. All cadets in level three and up are eligible to come, unless a Detailed Health Questionnaire is outstanding, or, in the case of returning cadets, the Annual Verification has not been completed.
You must be prepared for the weather; bring enough layers to keep warm, waterproof clothing, a warm hat, and appropriate footwear. Jeans and suitcases will not be permitted. Garbage bags and grocery bags are recommended for waterproofing.
Any cadets who does not have appropriate clothing, or who has forbidden items, will not be permitted to participate in the exercise. Cadets who jeopardize the exercise will be sent home at the discretion of the staff.
Meals will not just be MREs, there will be fresh food at some point, so you will need to bring a plate and utensils.
Due to the cancellation of regular training night on February 6th, 2019 due to inclement weather, you will need to download, print and fill out your permission slips. You may obtain the permission slip here. Please return the completed permission slips to FSgt Rudin-Brown on regular training night – Wednesday February 13th, 2019.
